This is a great robot to start you on the way of finding fires. Fire seeking and fighting are very popular. Many competitions are held each year for all ages - the most popular is with Trinity College, in which OOPic controlled robots are becoming more and more prevalent. This kit uses the Standard Trekker Fire seeking kit mounted and a sweeping ultrasonic sensor. The robot seeks a fire and the UVTRON sensor will detect a flame in a bright room with sunlight and fluorescent light. The mask shown in the above pictures is to limit the field of view of the sensor so the Trekker can determine the heading in which the flame is detected.

As with all Trekker Kits with the OOPic II Expansion Card, this one can be expanded later by adding additional sensors, LCDs, etc., which will all plug directly into the OOPic II Expansion Card.

Option Notes:

• As a default no controller is selected.  If you don't have your own OOPic II, II+, III, or III+, select the controller that you want to use in the options.  We offer the OOPic III and III+ for this kit.   If you need the programming cable select a starter package.  See our OOPic Store Category for more details. 
• The standard wheels are 3.5" foam wheels with ball casters. The enhanced wheel upgrade replaces the 3.5" wheels with an enhanced wheel set. The ball caster wheels are still included with the upgrade so you can use either rear caster.
• If you select and fully assembled robot kit, you do not need to select modified servos too. Modified servos are part of the assembly. If you select a fully assembled robot kit, it will be completely built, programmed, tested and ready to go out of the box!
