This sensor is great for object detection. It will IC will read a ~0.5VDC (TTL Off) when ever it detects a 38.5kHz IR signal. When the signal from the IF LED is blocked or does not reflect off an object the IC outputs a ~4.8 VDC (TTL Hi/On) .
