This bracket/housing has two roles. It provides a mounting pad and hardware for the Hamamatsu UVTron Flame Detector Kit and it also provides a mask to limit the field of view of the sensor. The housing bolts onto a standard servo arm (servo and servo arm are not included) so it can be rotated to locate the source of the flame. The housing has two openings/slots 180 degrees from one another. One of the slots is larger than the other. The smaller slot yields about a 15 degree filed of view, the larger slot yields about twice the view. The slots do not significantly reduce the ability to detect a flame, it only reduces the field of view. Follow this link for assembly instructions.
Check out the video we have with a Trekker using the sensor to find the location of a flame.
The bracket will also accommodate a Single Scanner Servo Arm Bracket or a Dual Scanner Servo Arm Bracket so an IR and/or ultrasonic sensor can be placed on top of the housing.
Hardware is included to mount the bracket to a servo arm and to mount the UVTRON Kit to the bracket. A servo arm is not included.
