With this package the Trekker can fetch a ball and know when it has caught it. It also has an IR sensor and Ultrasonic sensor for following walls and detecting obstacles. This package consists of 2 brackets that mount to the front bumper. The brackets hold a IR photo reflector, which is also included. The plow of the bumper switch is inverted for this feature as shown in the above figure. The sensor is used to detect if a ball is caught in the catcher. This kit is used in conjunction with a sweeping ultrasonic sensor and an Sharp GPD12 IR sensor mounted to the front bumper. These sensors are used to locate and track the ball and the ball catching sensor is used to confirm the ball has been caught.

As with all Trekker Kits with the OOPic II Expansion Card, this one can be expanded later by adding additional sensors, LCDs, etc., which will all plug directly into the OOPic II Expansion Card.

Option Notes:

• As a default no controller is selected.  If you don't have your own OOPic II, II+, III, or III+, select the controller that you want to use in the options.  We offer the OOPic III and III+ for this kit.   If you need the programming cable select a starter package.  See our OOPic Store Category for more details
• The standard wheels are 3.5" foam wheels with ball casters. The enhanced wheel upgrade replaces the 3.5" wheels with an enhanced wheel set. The ball caster wheels are still included with the upgrade so you can use either rear caster.
• If you select and fully assembled robot kit, you do not need to select modified servos too. Modified servos are part of the assembly. If you select a fully assembled robot kit, it will be completely built, programmed, tested and ready to go out of the box!
