This is our 2nd generation RC ATR kit. The only difference between this kit and the Base ATR kit are the options for RC controllers and RC interface options. It is an extremely rugged well built robot. The wheels are axle mounted and are supported using sealed ball bearings. The motors allow this robot to climb walls. The base is made of aluminum that is easy to drill mounting holes for your electronics. The kit provides you with what you need to make a great All-Terrain robot.
This is a rugged frame made of 1/8" thick aluminum to accept our IG42 gear motors. This is our 2nd generation ATR frame and wheel housing. We took our previous design that had separate motor housings that mounted to a base and made it all one piece. We also stretched it slightly, adding the ability to make it 6WD. The aluminum frame is fully gusseted adding greater rigidity. The aluminum is all laser cut for an exact fit-up and then hand welded and polished. Later if you want to make this robot 6WD, just add the middle set of wheels and motors. See our ATR page for more details.
The base is 14.25" wide x 17.25" long. The sides are 2.125" high (bottom edge to top surface). Note, these dimensions do not include weld filler, which adds a little to the overall dimensions. As configured it has a ground clearance of about 2 5/16". The width with the wheels is about 23" and the length is about 21.5". The overall height is just the wheel diameter of 6.75".
There are a lot of options and additions you can select, the links of all the items are included below. Follow the links for details of each item and option.
For full details and descriptions of the ATR and all the items, see our ATR Robot Building Page . Additionally, you can see our general ATR page for videos of the ATR robot in action.
When you purchase this kit you will get access to our assembly manual that contains color images and step by step instructions, or you can opt for us to assemble it for you.

| Battery Options: |
|
For the motor batteries, you can choice any of these 24V batteries. 24V 4500 mAHr NiMH Battery Pack - TE-099-220 (Qty 1) High Power 22.2V 3Ahr Li-Ion Module - TE-124-222 (qty 1) High Power 22.2V 10Ahr Li-Ion Module - TE-119-222 (qty 1) |

| RC Controller: |
|
For the RC Controllers, you can choice any of these controllers. You need 2 channels to control the robot drive functions. Our Aggressor Pistol radios offer a great way of controlling your robot. If you want to control lights or other functions, you should get a higher channel radio. If you plan on adding camera pan and tilt or other options you should get at least a 4 channel controller. HiTec Aggressor 2-Ch AM 75MHz - TE-075-000 HiTec Aggressor CRX 75MHz 3 FM w/ DCS Rx - TE-077-000 HiTec Laser 4 Channel 75MHz RC Controller Pkg - TE-033-004 HiTec Laser 6 Channel 75MHz RC Controller Pkg - TE-033-006 If you are going with a 75MHz radio, you should get a antenna kit. RC Antenna Kit - TE-063-000 (Qty 1) Another low cost, short range (<100 yards) option is our new 4 Channel 2.4GHz Transmitter/Receiver TE-135-004 (Qty 1) We also carry the Spektrum Radios which we have had outstanding results with. We also sell the Spektrum systems with the fail safe BR6000 Bot Receivers. With the spread Spektrum frequency hopping DSM2™ technology we get great range and reliability regardless of the other 2.4GHz systems around like routers and phones. The other benefit of 2.4GHz is most motor noise and mechanical noise/interference is well below this frequency, which often causes issues with the 72 and 75MHz radio systems. The 2.4 Systems do not have long antennas either, make it very nice! Spektrum DX3E 3Ch DSM Radio with SR300 Receiver TE-113-003 Spektrum DX5eTransmitter with AR500 Receiver - TE-113-005 Spektrum DX5e Transmitter with AR6110e Receiver TE-132-005 Spektrum DX6i Transmitter with AR6200 Receiver - TE-113-006 Spektrum DX6i Transmitter with BR6000 Bot Receiver - TE-105-006 Spektrum DX6i Transmitter with AR6110e Receiver - TE-132-006 Spektrum DX7 Transmitter with AR7000 Receiver - TE-113-007 |

| RC Interface Motor Controller: |
|
The RC interface takes the RC receiver signal and drives the motors, servos, outputs, etc. See our RC support page for more details. There arer many different options for this control interface. Over the years of selling these kits and the addition of the Spektrum Radios, we have had a custom Sabertooth 2x10 RC controller made for us. We offer this as the only option for a motor controller. Click here to see a schematic of the easy hookup using the custom 2x10 RC Sabertooth. Other motor controller and RC interface configurations can be selected separately if desired, but you will have to contact us for assembly costs.
