This is a 6 cell (7.2VDC) 2200mAhr Rechargeable NiMH battery pack. These are used to power the Trekker Fire Fighting Fan, but can have many other uses too. Radio Shack sells a 5 hour charger for this (Catalog #: 23-333). The plug that comes with the battery will not plug directly into a Radio Shack charger so the optional battery pack connectors (Radio Shack Catalog # 23-444) can be purchased. The connectors also make unplugging the battery and charging it with the Radio Shack charger easier. The optional connectors also come with an inline 7A fuse and holder.
As another option you can select to get 15A connectors for the batteries. The connectors are sometimes referred to as dean connectors. They can be soldered/crimped onto the wire ends and offer a great way of disconnecting the batteries for charging, etc.
The batteries are NiMH so they do not have the memory issues common with NiCad battery packs. The batteries are arranged in a 1x6 array of AA batteries interconnected via soldered strips and covered with a PVC wrapping. Two wire leads extend out of the pack. The battery weighs about 5.7oz and measures approximately 3 3/8" x 2" x 5/8".
You will not be able to find better prices than this for comparable NiMH battery power!.
