SuperDroid Trekker Description

The SuperDroid Trekker is autonomous (Definition: Not controlled by others or by outside forces; Independent in mind or judgment; self-directed)

SuperDroid Trekker is a small robot driven by modified servos and can be assembled using basic tools.  The SuperDroid Trekker is an aluminum robot chassis fitted with modified servos and has two follower/caster wheels.  The aluminum is precision cut and formed to make a very precise chassis.  The Aluminum frame is designed to house many different configurations as additional accessories are added to enhance the robot building experience.  The SuperDroid Trekker is intended to allow child from 8-88 years of age learn the basics of autonomous robot control.  Only basic computer skills are need to get you started!  The Trekker is a great educational product that teaches reasoning, logic, computer programming, and much more using a real robot!  The programs are provided, but can be altered, modified, expanded, etc to allow maximum flexibility and creativity.

The backbone of the autonomous robot is the brains (i.e. MCU � Micro Controller Unit).  The SuperDroid Trekker is sold with an optional OOPic II MCU and coming soon the Microchip PIC controlled MCU.  The Trekker also has mounting holes for the Basic Stamp II Board of Education.  The OOPic MCU has the advantage of being an object oriented PIC which allows multitasking (i.e. the drive motors can be told to operate in a particular manner, and then the program can continue doing other tasks as the motors operate in the background).

The SuperDroid Trekker can be purchased in many different configurations.  All of the individual components can be bought separately or as packages for some cost savings.  Compare the costs and features of the SuperDroid to other comparable robots and you will see, you get a lot more for your money with the SuperDroid Trekker.
