This robot converts a Toro Recycler 22" Lawnmower into a robot that can be driven with remote control or, for the adventurous, made to cut the lawn autonomously. This lawn mower features 4WD and can be used with the bagger if desired.
The robot consists of custom wheel plates that allow heavy duty IG52 motors to be mounted inside of the lawnmower chassis. The wheel plates incorporate Toro's original height adjustment design. The front two motors drive a pinion which drives the wheel while the rear motor drives a chain which drives the pinion, then driving the wheel. The chain drive in the rear allows room to use the bagging system if desired.
