This is a cable spool that can be set up with 250 or 500 feet of CAT6 cable and slip ring. It is to be used for a tethered control system. The end of the cable has an RJ45 plug and the side of the spool has an RJ45 jack. Plug the cable into the robot and plug the cable from the remote into the cable spool to control the robot. The cable transmits drive commands and relays video back to the LCD on the remote. As you drive, feed the cable in or out depending on the direction you are going. The cable is heavy duty and weatherproof so it can go everywhere your robot can. To be used with any of our tethered inspection robots.
For IP based control (Ethernet) a cable length of 250 feet is recommended. That is the maximum effective range of transmitting over an Ethernet cable with a slip ring. If you are planning to use RS485 control and analog video 500 feet of cable can be used. The options for length are at the bottom of this page. If you need longer runs, its best to go with Fiber.
