We’re excited to announce a new subset of inspection robots designed for reality capture, including both autonomous and remote control models.
Reality Capture is a software that creates 3D models based on unordered photographs or laser scans without seams. With this technology, buildings are often presented in 360° virtual walkthrough tours. Construction companies use reality capture to monitor progress on jobsites to reduce rework and improve schedule accuracy, while facility managers and building engineers use the software to plan projects with less downtime, provide virtual access to outside contractors, and compare changes made in the environment from one point in time to another.
Benefits of an autonomous reality capture robot:
- Automatic – the robot travels across a facility or construction jobsite without an operator, moving around potential obstacles while navigating to specific waypoints
- Schedule Whenever – this robot can scan the entire area during the off hours to alleviate privacy concerns from workers.
- Software Integration – import the 360° images into most reality capture applications companies.
A key aspect of our reality capture robots is affordability. Other autonomous reality capture robots on the market cost over $90,000, which makes it hard to get a decent ROI and near impossible to scale across a company. Our Groundhog Autonomous Reality Capture Robot costs just $17,000!
We also created a remote control reality capture robot that cuts data collection time in half while being fun to operate and it costs less than $5,000.
