Custom Server Robot Description
General Description
This is our ATR kit programmed and fully assembled. The robot is 4WD and is controlled from a computer using a WiFi connection. The robot has a webcam mounted on a pan and tilt system so you can see where you are going. The pan goes about 90 degrees to either side and the tilt is -30 to +75 degrees.
The robot is designed such that you can add various Analog, Digital, or Servo Controls to it. It comes with an Intel Atom motherboard that can be configured to serve the webcam or control to any device that exists on the network.
A custom C++ program is included on the Robot to relay the commands received over a TCP Socket to the Robot’s Control Board for servo, motor control, or GPIO interfaces.
A sample C# program is included for the Control Interface.
Frame
This is a rugged frame made of 1/8" thick aluminum to accept our IG32, IG32P or our IG42 gear motors. The base is 11" wide x 14" long. Note: these dimensions do not include weld filler, which adds a little to the overall dimensions. As configured it has a ground clearance of about 1 5/8". The width with the wheels is about 14" and the length is about 15 3/8". The aluminum frame is fully gusseted adding greater rigidity. The aluminum is all laser cut for an exact fit-up and then hand welded and polished.
Motors and Motor Mounts
This Custom Server Robot is set up with our IG32P gear motors. The standard motors are 190 RPM. The wheels are 4 7/8 inches in diameter.
So... 190*3.14*4.875/12 = ~242 fpm (~2.75mph) travel speed (of course the motor speed is nominal at 24V the batteries usually run about 27 volts so the RPMs are probably faster and then if there is a lot of load on the motors they will run slower, etc. etc.) Any ways, its a fairly quick and powerful robot. If you want more power you can choose the IG32 24VDC 067 RPM motors for about half the speed and twice the power.
Wheels and Drive Shafts
The wheels of this robot are 4 7/8" Dia. The wheel hubs have a hex coupling that matches to our axles for a slip free engagement.
Hardware
The final item you need to make your kit complete is a hardware package.
It includes nuts, bolts washers, nylon spacers (for isolating your electronics and controller boards), cable ties, and cable hold downs.
