This is a base kit for a robot that you control the size of. Specify the length as explained below and build it to your desired width as explained below. This kit gives you all the options for a base robot kit.

The kit includes custom sides that are 2" x 2" Aluminum tube with a 1/8" thick wall. We machine it to a custom length. Using two of these you can make your custom sized robot. They support our 6.75" ATR Wheel and Shaft Set Pair, our Single Row, Omni-Wheel and Shaft Set or our Double Row, Omni-Wheel and Shaft Set. The width of robot is up to you, it must be at least (the length the gear motors + 2" tube + 1/8" adaptor plate) x 2. A simple piece of plywood, aluminum, or acrylic can be used to tie the two side together or the sides can be bolted onto your own robot chassis.

The tube structure uses the bearings in the above linked wheel kits to support the axle. The other side of the axle is supported by the motor. This provides a much stronger attachment for the wheels and the load is put on a heavy duty bearings and tube instead the motor. Direct coupling a wheel to the motor will just ruin a motor quickly. Below are pictures of some assemblies using the sides and wheels.

Below you can specify the center to center length of the side. This will be the distance from one bearing/axle to the next. Specify the center to center length of the axles in inches. Total length of side will be an additional 3 inches. (i.e. there is 1.5" of tube past each axle center. The maximum center to center is 32.5 inches, the minimum is 8 inches. All other options are included below as a menu to build your custom robot. With the batteries, we do not recommend the 2200mAhr batteries unless its real light duty with IG32 gear motors.

Specify the center to center length of the axles in inches. Total length of side will be an additional 3 inches. Maximum center to center is 32.5 inches, minimum is 8 inches.

These are the standard recommended items for this robot kit.

Select the motors you want for the robot kit. Based on the motors selected we will provide the propper adaptor plates and bore the wheel shafts to match your motors.

Select the desired wheels and shafts. This robot will fit 6.75" tires, 4" Omni Wheels, or 10" pneumatic tires. If using the 10" tires only IG42 motors will work with 122 RPM or slower.
