The IR detector is a Sharp GP2D12 IR detector that mounts to the rear or front of the Trekker Chassis, front scanner brackets, or bumper switches.  The IR detector will detect a obstacle and cause the robot to stop.  The IR detector can detect objects from 4 inches to 30 inches away.  This sensor package will plug directly into the Trekker OOPic II Expansion Board or the OOPic-R Expansion Board IR sensor headers.
