This device is made by Elexol.  It is a TTL Serial Module using FT232BM.  It lets you add a USB interface to your robot or other microcontroller project in less than an hour.  The USBMOD transfers data between your project and a host PC using I/O pins in a simple serial interface.

• External EEPROM on board for USB Enumeration Data
• It's ready to plug into the USB and will appear as a serial port to your software

Improvements in this second generation design include reduced external component count, improved power management, cleaner start-up/reset, and an EEPROM which holds USB enumeration data and FT232BM configuration flags. USBMOD3 is not a drop-in replacement for USBMOD1 due to changes in the hardware interface.
