This is a listing for the chassis used to build our IG42-DB4-E Enclosed Robot Kit. It is the second generation of the chassis with a single piece bent sheet metal lid. It allows for easier access to components and better weather resistance since there are not longer any cracks in the lid for water and dust to settle into. The chassis is entirely enclosed and can be used in most weather conditions. It is designed for the wheels to be axle mounted and supported by two sealed ball bearings. This moves the payload so that it is entirely supported by the chassis instead of the motor. Each of the four axles are chain driven by a large and powerful IG42 Gear motor via a roller chain to yield a very smooth and slip free mode of operation. This robot is designed for loads greater than 20lbs. For loads greater than 35lbs you need to go with lower gear ratio motors and pneumatic tires. The biggest issue with weight is pivot turns on carpet and grass takes a great deal of torque to skid steer.
