Customer E-Mail. I’m definitely interested in item #TP-220-002.

I’m a software engineer and can code where required but would like to start with as comprehensive existing baseline of components as possible. I would like to build an autonomous robot that can perform a grid search. During this search it would need to be able to perform basic hazard detection and avoidance.

What is your current recommended configuration for setting up an autonomous MLT-JR? Do you have any examples of anyone trying to do something similar? Ideally I would build an Android app that allows me to create a grid on a map. The robot would then follow this grid until the grid has been completed.

The programmable MLT-JR comes with a Arduino. As is we provide example code to drive it autonomously with a simple IR sensor on the front of the robot. All our example code is located on our GITHub. For what you are wanting to do you will need to include several other sensors. Sonar sensors will provide better range than a IR sensor. We find the most economical way to utilize collision sensors is to mount them on a servo. This allows you to see 180 degrees. You will also need a GPS to keep track of your position. A IMU is always a good idea too. We can install and wire up all these items and/or program them so they are all functional and then you will just have to add the autonomous features. Hope this helps. Keep us posted and let us know if you have any other questions.
