This is a wheelchair motor and with spur gearbox. If you want this motor with an optical encoder mounted, follow this link. They make great motors for heavy-duty robots, providing higher payload capacities, power, and performance. Unlike many wheelchair motors, these do not have a left and right hand version and are sold individually. We have tested a lot of motor and gearbox combinations and these work very well for our purposes.
