Description:

These All Terrain Robots (ATRs) are designed and fabricated in North Carolina USA and fully supported by SuperDroid Robots, an industry leader in robotics. The chassis is a rigid gusseted aluminum frame that is precisely fabricated using state of the art CNC equipment. The wheels are mounted on solid steel axles which are supported by ball bearings. Each axle/wheel is driven by a planetary gear motor delivering smooth reliable power. The robot uses differential steering (movement is based on two separately driven wheels placed on either side of the robot body. It can thus change its direction by varying the relative rate of rotation of its wheels). See our ATR page for more details about our All Terrain Robots. Standard configuration:

(Using the options below, the robot can be customized)
  • Includes enclosed heavy duty chassis, hardware, electronics, etc.
  • Four heavy duty IG42 planetary 252 RPM gear motors (one per axle/wheel) connected to axle by chain and sprocket (additional motor options are available below including encoder).
  • 6 inch pneumatic wheels with solid steel axles and ball bearing supports (additional wheel options are available).
  • Handles 40lbs of additional payload in most terrains (higher torque motors are available as options).
  • Variable speed and direction differental drive/steering.
  • The standard motors drive this robot up to 265 feet per minute (faster or slower motors are available as options).
  • 24V 4500 mAHr NiMH 2x10 Battery Pack providing 1-2 hours of operation depending on use (Additional battery options are available as options).
  • Includes battery chargers.
  • This robot comes complete with a motor controller (additional motor controller options are available as options).
  • This robot includes a Spektrum remote control to wirelessly drive the robot (additional controller method options available as options) .
  • The total weight of this configuration is ~38 lbs.
  • Unassembled (assembly can be selected as an option).

Options:

The standard items and options are listed below. They are listed as links and can be clicked to view further details. We offer many different motors, motor controllers, batteries, etc. so you can configure the robot to your exact needs. The weight of the robot, its capacity, speed, etc. depend on how the robot is configured. The item details of the options listed below will specify weights, sizes, etc. This robot platform is a skid steer robot (left and right wheels are slowed down, stopped or reversed to turn). Since it has to skid to steer, friction is the major contributing factor for sizing your components. The more the robot weighs, the harder to turn. The higher the friction coefficient (deep grass, carpet, etc.), the harder it is to turn. The lower RPM motors have lower speed, but more torque for easier turning. The default options listed below are what we recommend as a good starting point. Contact us if you need help selecting options or need custom configuration.

These are standard items that are required. They are checked and grayed out indicating that they are not optional and cannot be unchecked.

These are the standard included items for this robot kit, please leave all of them selected unless you are sure you do not need them.

Select the wheel and shaft set. Either 6 inch or 10 inch tires can be used. The smaller tires will yield more torque, but less speed.

No Wheels or Shafts

Select the motors you want to use. Lower RPM motors should be used with the 10 inch tires or higher loads for the added torque.

No Motors

Select the battery for running the motors. All motors for this kit require 24V. (Qty 2 24V batteries run in parallel yield twice the run time). The more amp hours, the longer the run time...

No Battery

Select the option if you want us to include appropriate charging system with your selected batteries

Select the Motor Controller Option. For higher load applications select at least a 2x20A motor controller.

No Motor Controller

Select the type of RC Controller you desire to control the robot. If you are planning on using this robot with a microcontroller or similar, a RC controller is not necessary.

The robot can be equipped with a 8" round 4" high dome on top. The modification will include a 8in laser cutout for a camera pan and tilt system to come through the top cover into the dome.
