How SuperDroid CNC works — automation instead of labor
1. Bulk-stocked blanks
We buy one thing: aluminum 6061 plate, in a short list of standard footprints and thicknesses, 100 blanks at a time. Your part is matched to the smallest one it fits in, so a quantity of one still gets bulk material pricing. The quote above shows our material cost next to what that same bare blank would have cost you at your volume — usually more than we charge for the finished part.
2. Self-fixturing dovetail
The machine cuts a 45° dovetail workholding form directly into the blank, and a self-centering dovetail vise grips it. No custom fixtures, no soft jaws, no fixture design fees — the workholding is machined into the material itself, every time, on every part.
3. One-and-done 5-axis machining
Your part is automatically oriented so every feature is reachable from a single clamping, then machined complete — top, sides, and undercuts — with a standardized five-tool set. Material is removed progressively from the top down, so surfaces far from the vise are finished while the stock below them is still rigid. That is how thin walls and tall parts come off the machine without chatter.
4. Robotic load / unload, lights out
Robots load blanks and unload finished parts around the clock. No operator ever touches your part, which is why a 2-piece order doesn't wait behind someone's production run — and why our prices look like material plus machine minutes, not labor hours.
5. Break-off tabs — you do the last 10 seconds
The finished part stays connected to its dovetail base by thin angled tabs only a few thousandths of an inch thick at the break line. The angle makes them stiff during machining but lets them snap cleanly by hand. Your part ships still attached to its base; you break it off like a part from a high-precision injection-molding runner. That single trade — you snap the tabs — is what removes every hour of manual labor from the price.
6. What you see is the planned part
The 3D preview is a simulation of the finished part the cell would make: real blank, real tab locations, and a per-surface roughness estimate (Ra) for every face. Reminder: this page is for evaluating demand and feasibility — we are not machining customer orders yet.

No. SuperDroid CNC is a planned offering — we are evaluating demand and feasibility. This page is a quote prototype. We are not machining or shipping parts yet.
How fast would parts ship if you launch?
Target for standard 1–2 piece orders that clear the automated quote: completed the same day and shipped overnight.
Why would it be cheaper than a machine shop?
No labor hours in the planned price. Automated CAM, bulk-stocked blanks, machined-in workholding, and robotic tending mean material and machine minutes only.
What's the deal with the break-off tabs?
They're how the planned process skips a second operation. The part would ship attached to its dovetail base by tabs a few thou thick; snap them off by hand and optionally dress the witness marks. The preview shows where they'd be.
What files can I upload?
STEP (.step/.stp) or STL (.stl). Uploading runs the quote and shares the file with us so we can see what people want quoted while we evaluate the service.
What tolerance and finish are you targeting?
±0.005" general tolerance; Ra 32–63 µin on milled faces and walls, Ra 63–125 µin on 3D contours. The viewer maps the estimate onto every surface of your part.
Do you plan a minimum order?
No. Quantity one is what the system is designed around.
Can you do steel, titanium, or plastics?
No — aluminum 6061-T6 from our stocked blanks only. SuperDroid CNC would not machine materials or sizes outside what this quote tool prices.
What if my part doesn't get a quote?
Then it is outside the planned SuperDroid CNC scope. There is no separate custom / RFQ machining path for oversize parts, other alloys, or geometries the automated engine cannot price.
