Robot Repair Service

If your SuperDroid robot is down and out of warranty, this page is where you start. Pay the diagnostic fee for your platform size. We arrange shipping both ways and run a full evaluation before any major repair work begins. Compact robots go through FedEx drop-off; mid-size and large tactical units are picked up at your location.

The amount you pay here covers shipping both ways and diagnosis only. Unless the fix is minor, we will send you a separate repair quote for parts and labor after we have the unit on the bench. You approve that quote before we proceed.

How the repair process works

  1. Return for diagnosis. We evaluate the robot and OCU and confirm the root cause before any major work. Once we receive payment, compact robots ship to us through FedEx — you drop the packed unit at your nearest FedEx location using the label we provide. Mid-size and large tactical robots are picked up at your location.
  2. Quote for approval. We send you a quote for the repair of the robot and OCU, including estimated turnaround, before we proceed.
  3. Repair and return. The unit is repaired, tested, and shipped back to you.

On older platforms, repairs often involve freight both ways, legacy parts, and extended labor. All in, repairs of this type commonly reach $10,000 or more, and on units that age we sometimes find additional issues once we are inside. The diagnostic fee does not cap or include those costs.

Compact Platforms

FedEx round-trip shipping & diagnosis

Tier 1 — GPK-32, MLT-JR & Related Compact Robots

For small tracked inspection and development platforms. Includes GPK-32 (all generations), MLT-JR, Tri-Wheel MLT-JR, SGT/SST tethered crawlers, and similar compact units. Pack the robot and OCU. After payment, we send a FedEx label and you drop the shipment at your nearest FedEx location.

Mid-Size Platforms

$2,400

Round-trip freight & diagnosis

Tier 2 — PTW-42, MLT & Related Mid-Size Robots

For enclosed wheeled all-terrain robots and mid-size tracked tactical platforms. Includes PTW-42 (with and without scissor lift), MLT-42, MLT-F, MLT-PT, and similar mid-size units. Heavier chassis and larger OCU packages fall here.

Large Tactical Platforms

Round-trip freight & diagnosis

Tier 3 — Bulldog, Bloodhound, Mastiff & Related Tactical Robots

For our largest tactical support robots. Includes Bulldog, Bloodhound (LT2-F), Mastiff (HD2-S), and related heavy tracked platforms with arms, grippers, and full OCU cases. These units require freight both ways and extended bench time.

Important: The diagnostic fee is not a flat repair price. It pays for round-trip shipping and our time to find out what is wrong. If the repair is minor, we may complete it during diagnosis at no extra charge. For anything beyond that, you will receive a quote and decide whether to proceed. Questions before paying? Submit a support request or see our repairs and returns page for warranty RMAs.

FAQs

What does the diagnostic fee actually pay for?
Freight to our shop and back, plus the bench time to evaluate your robot and OCU. Compact robots (Tier 1) ship through FedEx — you drop them at your nearest FedEx location. Mid-size and tactical tiers include freight pickup at your site. The fee does not include replacement parts or repair labor unless the fix is minor enough to handle on the spot.
How do I know which tier to choose?
Pick the tier that lists your robot model or the closest match. GPK-32 and MLT-JR are Tier 1 (compact). PTW-42 and MLT-family mid-size robots are Tier 2. Bulldog, Bloodhound, and Mastiff are Tier 3 (large tactical). The price shown on each tier is the current diagnostic fee. If your unit does not fit neatly into a tier, contact us before paying so we can confirm the right freight class.
Do I need to send the OCU?
Yes. Ship the operator control unit with the robot. Drive, video, and arm problems often trace to the link between the OCU and the chassis, and we need both to run a complete diagnosis.
What happens after I pay?
For compact robots (Tier 1), we email a FedEx label after payment and you drop the packed robot and OCU at your nearest FedEx location. For mid-size and large tactical robots, we contact you to schedule freight pickup. Once the unit arrives, we evaluate it and send findings along with a repair quote if work is needed. Nothing beyond minor fixes starts until you approve the quote.
What if I decline the repair quote?
We return the unit as-is. The diagnostic fee already covered round-trip freight and evaluation, so there is no additional shipping charge for sending it back without repair. If you want us to scrap or part-out the unit instead, let us know when we send the quote.
How long does diagnosis take?
Most units are evaluated within 5–10 business days of arrival, depending on shop load and platform complexity. Large tactical robots with arms and multiple payloads can take longer. We will give you a realistic timeline when the unit is checked in.
Is this the same as a warranty repair?
No. This page is for out-of-warranty service where you prepay freight and diagnosis. If your robot is still under warranty, use our Repairs + Returns form to request an RMA instead of paying here.
Can additional problems change the repair cost?
Yes. On older platforms we sometimes find issues beyond the original complaint once the unit is opened up. If that happens, we stop, document what we found, and send an updated quote before doing any additional work.
How do compact robots get to your shop?
We do not pick up compact robots. After you pay the Tier 1 diagnostic fee, we send a FedEx label. You pack the robot and OCU, then drop the shipment at your nearest FedEx location. Return shipping after diagnosis is also through FedEx.
Can I ship the robot myself instead of scheduling pickup?
Compact robots always ship through FedEx using the label we provide — drop off at your nearest FedEx facility. Mid-size and tactical tiers include freight pickup at your location. If you want to use your own carrier on those larger tiers, contact us first.
What payment methods do you accept?
When you click Pay Diagnostic Fee, you go through a secure Stripe checkout. You will enter your shipping address, phone number, and a short description of the issue with your robot. After payment clears, compact-tier customers receive FedEx drop-off instructions. Mid-size and tactical customers hear from us to schedule pickup.
